Community Health

Students in our Community Health major prepare to build communities that promote and practice healthful living. You will learn to advocate for and create community health programs to teach you the impact of health in communities. A Community Health degree will prepare you for health advocacy, leadership, and education such as first aid, blood pressure screening, tobacco cessation, drug awareness and disease prevention. You will study preventive medicine, health care services management, health policy and health law enforcement. Through classwork and field work, you will learn how to do outreach for public health, non-profit and medical health agencies and organizations that support healthy lifestyles. Also, you will have opportunities to apply that learning in activities, campus programs, internships and volunteer situations that help people and communities adopt healthful behaviors.
